Stay Out in a Farm with
a Coleman Heater |
The food shortage problem worldwide is staring man straight in the
eye now, in spite of the supposed modernization of almost everything
in human life today. Why a problem as basic as food is again a problem
throughout the world should challenge man's ingenuity now more than
ever.
Until new discoveries in food production come up, it should be back
to the basics and back to the farm today if we hope to see some
solution to the food shortage problem now hugging the headlines
in international TV and other media outlets. When people troop back
to the countryside to help in producing food, they will need portable
heaters for warmth at night especially in the colder countries
of the world.
The big (over one billion) population of China in the 50's and 60's
suffered yearly famines and starvation due to insufficient food
production in the months before the winter season. At wintertime
people in China in those years suffered and died from hunger, with
no food to eat in subzero temperatures.
When the Communists under Mao Tse Tung took over power in the government,
one of the first things they attended to was the problem of food.
Their solution was a strict decree requiring all Chinese from the
highest official in the land to the lowest citizen in the street
requiring them to spend one week of their year in the farms and
help in the production of food for everybody.
With more than one billion people doing work in the farms year-round,
it did not take long for the whole country to have enough food for
all people, and their yearly food shortage solved. Regardless of
how certain democracies criticize Mao Tse Tung then, credit is due
him for the solution to the food problem in his country. If not
for him, and what he did for China and its over one billion people,
food would have been a problem among the Chinese still up to this
time.
Notice the quiet in China even if the whole world now is so noisy
lamenting over the looming food shortages predicted to hit many
countries shortly. It is because China has enough food for her people,
with each one still contributing one week of farm labor during the
year. Many of the Chinese now doing farm work yearly are enjoying
the comfort of their delonghi
ceramic heater when they bed down for the night. They have acquired
enough means to afford the equipment, as China has become a richer
country recently.
The world should emulate China in this regard, rather than just
talk about the food problem. Maybe it is time for everyone around
the globe to start moving in the direction of the farms and do his
or her share in planting of food to stave off the feared food shortages
and the food riots in the cities.
Leaders of all countries should start moves to come up with emergency
food production programs. They themselves must set examples by bringing
out their portable
heaters previously just used in leisurely camping trips and
start camping out in the farms to contribute their share of actual
work in food production.
